Finish was matched in color and surface qualities with pigmented stains and dyes to a sample color approved by Washington Place curation. The State Dining Room is used for official State functions on a continual basis which necessitated the choice of a durable finish. Side chairs finished in polyurethane varnish to a semi-gloss sheen, polished to highlight carvings, and paste waxed. Table with leaves and buffet finished in C.A.B. lacquers. |
